We are pleased to be further collaborating with sound artist Adam Asnan.
He accompanied us to Lowestoft for the first morning of filming to record the sound for the work.

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune--without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

We visited Lowestoft on the 20th of March to explore the area. We were looking for signs of the Low Light. According to records, the Low Light was once positioned at the bottom of Mariner’s Score.
Since the Low Light was removed in 1924, the sea front has changed incredibly! Ness Point, the most easterly point of the British Isles is now surrounded by a Birds Eye factory – the last remaining evidence of the huge fishing history of the town.
The High Light is still a working lighthouse owned by Trinity House, although it has been automated for many years.
The concrete sea wall now dominates the landscape and the beach is sadly out of bounds due to concrete debris from the current sea wall’s predecessor.
